Illustration for the tale Rockwoman

ROCKWOMAN

One day that woman who always ended up getting down from the route did not return. They say they saw her climb without a harness or belayer as she used to. She simply grabbed the rock dams and began to climb and climb. That even though she was called by her name, she didn’t look down. They say that she had her eyes fixed upwards and that it seemed that her hands and feet moved as if the woman were improvising a dance that flowed through the rock without any previous thought. She went up and up and was getting smaller in view of those who remained on the ground. She climbed so high that those who looked at her believed that her body was confused with the rock. And they never saw her on the ground again.
